Genesis 34:1 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.

2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.

3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.

4 And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.

CONSEQUENCES OF THE RAPE OF DINAH BY SHECHEM

Genesis 34:7 And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter; which thing ought not to be done.

25 And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.

26 And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.

27 The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.

31 And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?

A STORY OF A GOOD MAN

Greetings to you all in the victorious name of JESUS CHRIST, the Only Begotten of the Father, who for the love and compassion He had for us all caused Him to leave His kingdom, though GOD and came to be borne by a virgin as a man, so that he could be able to dwell among us.

He did so many good things for us by showing us the plan of the Father for our redemption from sin through Him.

As He continued with us with His good works by healing our sicknesses and diseases, helping the poor, and becoming a friend of sinners, we decided to hate Him. We began to call Him by wicked names, not minding the fact that He loved us unconditionally.

As times goes on, we decided to put an end to His existence. Therefore, we conspired with the elders on how to execute our wicked plans to an innocent Man. Our desire to kill Him was welcomed and received by everyone with great joy.

So, we found one of His followers who was a greedy man by name Judas Iscariot, and told him what every one of us with the elders had agreed to do with the Man. When he heard this, he jumped up for joy because this good Man had blocked all his cunning ways he used to get quick money before. He saw our wicked plans of killing this good Man as the only opportunity for him to get back to his wicked business.

Therefore, we bargained with him for the price on how to get his master, the good Man. We were thinking that he will charge us heavily because the good Man was a wanted person by the elders so that he could make more money from it, putting all his losses in the past into play. But surprisingly, he agreed to collect from us only thirty pieces of silver. In fact we were very happy and thanked him for selling his own master for death very cheaply to us.

Immediately this transaction was completed, we arrested the good Man. We judged Him very wickedly and condemned Him to die by crucifixion. We thought that by that wicked treatment we meted on Him, the end has finally come for Him. How wrong we were.

So before we crucified Him, we ensured that He was severely punished, not that He offended us but because we never wanted Him to reign over us as our Messiah. We abused Him, scorn Him, plated a crown of thorns on His head, spited on Him and finally, we nailed Him to the cross thinking that we’ve succeeded to stop Him.

But do you know what happened? On the third day, He arose from the grave, defiling every scientific theory. In fact, we have to bribe our soldiers that were keeping watch over His grave and told them to lie, so that the last error will not be the worse.

Anyway death could not hold Him down. Although one of us had earlier exclaimed that He was truly a good Man when He was still on the cross, His resurrection from the grave further proved us wrong about our attitudes towards Him that led us to killing Him. We then knew that we have shed the blood of an innocent Man. May God forgive us our ignorance.

But there is a great mystery that unveiled in the process. The curtain in the temple that we used to separate the Most Holy place from anyhow people was torn into two the very moment this good Man died on the cross. This then gave us who were not the high priest access to now enter the most holy place. Wow! This Man is indeed a very good Man, who was still thinking about us even in His dying.

Not only that, He also gave us open door to now come to God through His name. This good Man that did all these good things for us by dying in our own sins to redeem us from eternal death is called Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Today we have become the sons of God by His blood He shed for us on the cross of calvary.

Therefore, come to Him today and he will forgive you all your sins and make you his own child too. Praise the LORD. Halleluyah.
